The bus took us close to Playa Kenepa Grandi, also known as Grote Knip Kenepa Grandi on Google Maps, and labeled Playa Abou on the brown sign on the road directing you to the beach. Confusing, indeed! We walked about 25 minutes from where the bus dropped us off. The driver was helpful in pointing us to way to begin our walk. This beach is one of the top 25 beaches in the world, we have read. It was pretty. We were there early enough to not have a crowd around. We used the chairs and snorkeled both sides of the beach. More fish were on the left side, facing the water. The right side had cloudy water with little to see.
Yellow Snappers
We walked about 15 minutes back toward the bus stop, but stopped at Playa Kenepa Chiki, known as Kleine Knip on Google Maps, to snorkel. It is a smaller beach and less crowded. We got a picnic table with a thatched roof over it. There were fish on both sides of the beach and it was better snorkeling than the larger beach. We had our sandwiches and waited around to dry off before heading back for the bus.
