We walked to town, across the Queen Emma Pontoon Bridge. It connects the Punda and Otrobanda quarters of the capital city, Willemstad. The bridge is hinged and opens to allow large ships to pass. When the bridge opens, two ferries bring pedestrians across the water at no cost.
The famous street, Handelskade, is right there on the waterfront of St. Anna Bay on the Punda side. The brightly painted 18th century buildings are shops, art galleries, and sidewalk cafes.
Along the harbor is the Floating Market. The fishermen bring in their fish and cut it up for those who wish to buy it.

There are vegetables as well.

We went to the post office and mailed Steve's birthday card. We were told it would take 5 days to the US. We will see.
There is a central market with all the typical souvenirs. Next to that is the Old Market. It is now a food court where you can get generous Caribbean meals.

Mahi-Mahi Meal
We selected the Mahi-Mahi. It came with rice and beans, plantain, salad, and potatoes. We also shared a pumpkin pancake. Our dinner was $10 each.

We went to the bus station to inquire about busses. We ended up buying a smart pass and spent $11 and some guilders. We think we paid more than we should, but we hope to get our money out of our cards. One person told us we were set and could use the pass until 2020. We think we have to add money to the card when the initial amount runs out. The web site said more than one person could use the same card, but we were told no when we bought the cards.
